This tutorial offers step-by-step instructions on how to recreate the ethereal texture that resembles a thousand leaves of a book, or 'mille-feuille', which is a Crummb original. It includes how to cut, position and attach the leaves securely on a cake to achieve the high level of intricacy that is Crummb's hallmark. Instructions on sugar flowers are not included. Suited for fondant-covered cakes only; this technique will not work effectively on buttercream-covered cakes.
